Loralei Langford is a dedicated and versatile dance educator with a rich background in various dance styles and performance experiences. Her journey in dance began at a young age and has spanned over a decade, marked by rigorous training, diverse performance opportunities, and a passion for teaching.
Loralei's foundational dance training took place at prestigious institutions, starting with Pamela Hayes Classical Ballet School from 2010 to 2013. She further honed her skills at Ignite Dance Academy during two separate periods, from 2009 to 2010 and again from 2015 to 2019. Her commitment to excellence led her to Hawkins School of Performing Arts, where she trained under the expert guidance of Deirdre Hawkins and Erin Nobbe from 2019 to 2022. Most recently, she studied at Divergence Dance Conservatory under Felicia Fry and Tony Nguyen from 2022 to 2024.
Throughout her training, Loralei mastered a wide range of dance styles. She has an impressive 13 years of experience in classical ballet and two years in the Cecchetti method. Her versatility extends to contemporary dance, with three years of training, and modern dance, with two years. Additionally, she has two years of tap, four years of jazz, and six years of musical theater under her belt.
Loralei's performance experience is equally extensive. She has participated in numerous dance productions, showcasing her talent and versatility. Some of her notable performances include Cinderella with both Hawkins and Pamela Hayes, and Fairytale Ballets and Other Favorites with Hawkins. She has performed in The Nutcracker multiple times: three times with Pamela Hayes, once with Sacramento Ballet, and twice with Divergence Dance, where she shone in the highlighted roles of Dew Drop and Marzipan. Additionally, Loralei has performed in various recitals at Hawkins, Divergence, and Ignite Dance Academy.
In her pursuit of technical excellence, Loralei has successfully completed several Cecchetti exams, including Standard 6, Grade 8, and TC1.
Her dedication to musical theater is evident from her training at New Star’s Children’s Theater from 2013 to 2015, El Dorado Musical Theater in 2016, and Rainwater Music Company from 2016 to 2018. She has played significant roles in musical theater productions, such as The Wizard of Oz, Peter Pan (as Wendy), and The Totally Tangled Tale of Rapunzel’s Hair Raising Adventure (as Ariel).
Loralei's passion for dance extends beyond performance; she is also a committed educator. From 2023 to 2024, she taught at Royal Stage, where she instructed a variety of classes, including teen/adult ballet, teen/adult contemporary, kids contemporary, ballet 1/2 for ages 6-11, pre-ballet for ages 2-5, and musical theater at various local schools. In 2024, she also substituted at Divergence Dance Conservatory, further enriching her teaching experience.
In addition to her dance career, Loralei is pursuing an academic path. She is currently a student at Sierra College, working towards an Associate of Arts degree in Business Marketing. This academic endeavor complements her artistic pursuits, equipping her with the skills to navigate the business aspects of the dance world.
