Tony Nguyen is a visionary Artistic Director, Choreographer, and Performer whose work has captivated audiences both locally and internationally. A graduate of CSU, Sacramento with a BA in Dance, Tony has honed his artistic voice through extensive performances across the Bay Area and around the world. His distinguished career includes collaborations with renowned artists and companies such as Randee Paufve, Joe Goode Performance Group, East to West Dance Collective, and Bandaloop, with tours spanning the USA, Asia, and Africa.
Tony's leadership in the dance community is further highlighted by his role as the Assistant Artistic Director of Red Bucket Dance Theater, where he worked alongside Nolan T’Sani and Lisa Ross. Currently, Tony serves as the Artistic Director of TwoPoint4 Dance Theater, a company celebrated for its innovative approach to creating dance works that challenge societal norms and provoke thought on social, political, and personal issues. Under his direction, TwoPoint4 Dance Theater continues to push the boundaries of contemporary dance, earning accolades such as the audience choice award at the 2019 PUSHfest in San Francisco.
In addition to his role at TwoPoint4, Tony is the Contemporary Director at Divergence Dance Conservatory, where he brings his expertise and passion for dance to inspire the next generation of dancers. His current focus is on developing immersive dance theater experiences that aim to transform how performances are perceived in the Sacramento region.
Beyond the stage, Tony is also an avid photographer, often found with a camera in hand, capturing moments that inspire his artistic endeavors. A few years ago, Tony embraced his most cherished role yet—becoming a father to his daughter, who continues to inspire his creative journey.
