Steve Rinker
Martial Arts Director
Steve Rinker has been passionately teaching martial arts since 1997, the year he earned his black belt. His journey in martial arts began under the guidance of Marco Walker in Roseville, California, where he received his initial training and teaching position. With over two decades of experience, Steve has dedicated himself to sharing the art of Hapkido, a discipline he expertly teaches with a focus on self-defense, discipline, and personal growth. Steve achieved his 4th-degree black belt in 2017, a testament to his commitment and expertise in martial arts.
Steve’s teaching journey expanded when he moved to Oregon, where he taught martial arts at Young Champions, a non-profit youth outreach program. There, he made a significant impact on young lives by instilling the principles and practice of martial arts. After moving back, he continued his dedication to teaching, bringing his knowledge and expertise to his students.
In addition to his martial arts qualifications, Steve holds a Bachelor’s degree in History and Political Science from Sacramento State University and a Master’s degree in Education from Marylhurst University. His academic background complements his martial arts instruction, providing a well-rounded and thoughtful approach to teaching that emphasizes both physical and intellectual development.
Steve’s unique blend of experience, education, and a deep understanding of martial arts makes him a respected and valued instructor, dedicated to helping students of all ages and backgrounds achieve their personal best.
